Achadiya Artist Jacket

£175.00

Description

Inspired by a painter’s smock, and the wraparound aprons worn by block print artisans in Kutch, the Artist Jacket was created for the artist in all of us — functional, expressive, and made to inspire creativity.

The wrap-style front ties like an apron, forming a flattering high crossover neckline and offering an easy, adjustable fit. Deep front pockets add utility, while indigo-dyed Kala Cotton trims highlight the lines and structure of the jacket. Individually placement-cut from repurposed Achadiya cotton, each piece carries its own artistic history — layered marks, tonal shifts, and small mends that make every jacket truly one of a kind. The cuffs can be rolled up to feature the indigo cotton trim lining and it can even be worn in reverse to reveal more of the fabric’s beautiful, patterned story.

Due to the nature of hand-dyed and repurposed fabrics, subtle variations in colour, tone and pattern are expected and celebrated. Each piece is thoughtfully constructed by a small team in Cornwall, embracing the beauty in imperfections and visible mending. Designed to be worn, lived in, and cherished over time.

Size, fit, and details:

  • One size (M): Fits UK sizes 8-12

  • Wrap around at front with indigo ties

  • Indigo cotton lining cuffs and pockets

  • Our lovely model Merry is 5”6, size 10

For this first collection we’ve made the garments in one size to avoid over production. (S/M) UK size 8-12. We will be making more sizes going forward, but feel free to get in touch with your size request and we’ll keep this in mind for the next small batch production.

Care Details

  • Wash separately for the first wash, as natural indigo dye may release some colour.

  • Machine wash at 30ºC on a gentle cycle.

  • 100% cotton, including wadding.

  • We offer a visible mending service to repair and extend the life of your garments over time. Please get in touch for more details and costs
